The one big caveat: the C-wire
Smart thermostats need constant power, and many older Florida installs lack the common (C) wire that provides it. Workaround adapters exist but can cause odd behavior on some systems — short-cycling, ghost calls for cooling. If your wiring is marginal, a proper C-wire pull during install takes a tech minutes and prevents months of mystery.
